Shadowhunters season 3 premiere date speculation: When will it back?
What we can tell you right out of the gate is that there will be a third season for the adaptation. Freeform officially renewed the show earlier this year, which helped going into the finale to potentially erase some fears that may have been out there that we wouldn’t be seeing Katherine McNamara or anyone else on the show on TV for a little while. Beyond that, another simple question rises to the surface: When are we actually going to see the show back?
As of right now, the safe bet for the third season is for it to premiere in January, right around the time in which some other shows are off the air for a little while (think the first week of the month or so). The benefit that comes with Freeform starting the show here is that it doesn’t have to compete against nearly as much competition anywhere else. It gets a larger piece of the pie! The only downside, on the other hand, is that the show has to deal with the fact that there just isn’t all that much in the way of lead-up promotion. Thanks to it starting up right after the holidays it’s tough to give it some sort of extensive press tour that includes appearances on talk shows in the days leading up to it.
The biggest thing that we know is that Shadowhunters is very much a show that we do want to see on the air for a long time, so if you watch and love the show, know that you have to keep watching it! Doing that live is one of the best ways to support it, but it’s far from the only way. You can also stream the show, watch On-Demand, purchase various merchandise, tweet about it online, and figure out other ways that Freeform knows that you love the show. The biggest thing is find a way to support the show through some official channel and make your presence in the fandom known.
Will there be more news in the off-season?
You better count on it! We can only speak for ourselves, but we are currently planning to have everything from previews to scoop to casting news in the coming weeks/months. Any fan of Shadowhunters likely is well aware that the off-season is still a very active time for news on the series. In between when it’s filming and when it’s off, being a supporter of the show is very much a year-round thing.
