Arrow season 6 spoilers: Could we be meeting Slade’s son?

Slade Wilson

When Arrow season 6 premieres on The CW this fall, one of the main stories that’s been teased is that there will be a chance to learn more about Slade Wilson. Manu Bennett is going to be appearing in multiple episodes, and learning about his past could be a key part of the equation.

Apparently, one of the things that you could end up seeing is an opportunity to meet someone who may be rather close to the man otherwise known as Deathstroke. According to TVLine, the show is looking for a young man to play the role of an “introverted, moody and naturally athletic” teenager. Does this mean that we are going to be meeting Slade’s son? Well, that is certainly one possibility given what we’ve come to know about the character over time.

This would also be a casting that made some sense. If you think back to the season 5 finale “Liam Yu,” one of the stipulations made by Oliver Queen at the time was that in the event Slade helped him, Oliver would do his best to help him in turn. The effects of the mirakuru are long gone, and it does feel as though the two may be on the same side again. Therefore, bringing Slade a little bit more closure does make some sense … provided, of course, that this is what happens. We also do have to consider the possibility that he does somehow turn evil again, given that this is one of the most notorious adversaries of Oliver Queen on the show for a reason.

One way or another, it’s hard to object to getting more Slade. With both Adrian Chase, Ra’s al Ghul, Malcolm Merlyn, and Damien Darhk seemingly all dead, all of a sudden Slade becomes the most important past villain on the show. He’s the only person who’s gone through hell with Oliver both on the island and in Star City … other than Sara Lance, but he’s not really a villain at all and is over on Legends of Tomorrow. We wish that he would be around on the show more often, but the reality here is that he’s a part of another show in The Shannara Chronicles. As a result of that, the time in which he is available is a little less than some other people. Scheduling is something that the folks at The CW are aware of at this point when it comes to it being a challenge, but there’s still only so much that they can do.

Technically, we did meet one son of Slade on Legends of Tomorrow, but that timeline may no longer fully exist.
