Big Brother 19 live feed spoilers: Veto Ceremony results, aftermath (day 48)

Veto Ceremony results

The Veto Ceremony results were made official early in the Big Brother house Monday afternoon (day 48), and of course, everything went according to plan. (Spoilers from the live feeds within!)

As discussed by Head of Household Josh going into the Ceremony, he chose to nominate Raven as the replacement after Mark decided to remove himself from the block. Mark received some flack for the move, however stupid as that seems given that this is Big Brother and nobody should in a million years ever want to stay on the block.

Raven, of course, is taking it very well since she volunteered to be a pawn … plus she gets a chance to reference gastroparesis month on the live show. (Presented without opinion.) There’s almost no chance she goes home this week; she may be irritating to some of her other players, but she also doesn’t pose a threat. She’s yet to win a single challenge, and the biggest thing that she’s done is talk smack about people behind their back. (It’d probably benefit Matt if she goes, just for the sake of him not being a threat because of being in a duo. He’s not a threat for any other reason at all.)

So who is the target right now? Jessica. It has changed often throughout the week, and Elena hasn’t made it easier on herself by being super-paranoid and reminding Josh that she can be persuasive and strategic. The biggest thing that she’s got going for her is that there really aren’t the numbers needed to vote her out; beyond that, there’s also Jessica torpedoing her own game to an extent by being a little surly towards some of the other players. She didn’t quite realize how much Elena was being considered as a target; it may have helped Josh and Christmas to make Jessica a little more aware of her plans, but that was also a challenge given that Paul didn’t know about the Elena plan and they didn’t want to tip him off until the last minute.

The good news for Jessica

Cody seems ready to go to bat for her. He’s not going to give up; even if she does leave, he’s going to fight hard to stick around in the house. This, admittedly, is probably the Cody that casting was looking for rather than the egomaniac who was Head of Household the first week and talking about “victim noises” much of the time. (He’s still not the most likable person in the game all of the time, but underdogs always get some sort of boost.)
