NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 premiere date hopes for LL Cool J, cast
The primary thing to be aware of now regarding the new season is that there will, in fact, be a new season. It may have been assumed by many just on the virtue of the popularity of the franchise all around the globe, but a little reassurance never hurt anyone. This was renewed weeks ago, and all signs point to it being 24 episodes again.
As for that premiere date, the presumption is that the series, featuring LL Cool J, Eric Christian Olsen, Chris O’Donnell, Daniela Ruah, and more will return in late September / early October. Given that the show retains its Sunday timeslot (which feels likely, despite some opposition to it), the show could be starting up on Sunday, September 24 or Sunday, October 1 if the network opts to air a special or something else the day before. Traditionally, Sunday is the final day of the network week calendar; they tend to start the fall schedule on a Monday. There is no precise reason as to why, other than that this is just the way that they have gone about their business for the majority of the past several years.
There will be plenty of time to discuss possible stories, but the biggest thing that can be said is that provided the show sticks to the established pattern they have developed this time around with character stories, they will please plenty of fans all over the world. The writers focused more on the personal side of some of these agents, and that helped to reduce the overall sense of fatigue that can come with a show this far into its run. One other reason for the success of this is that the writers / producers have continued to cultivate great material that the actors can blow out of the water. It further gives them an incentive to stick around; retaining much of the same cast year after year gives your viewers a chance to know and love the people that you have; in turn, this reduces pressure to focus on newcomers over developing the people you already have.
