Shark Tank review: Laid Brand, Bridal Buddy, Wine & Design, Rocketbook

Laid Brand

Tonight, the Shark Tank finale is bringing to the table Wine & Design, Laid Brand, Wine & Design, and Rocketbook. Who will emerge with a deal, and who will be dead to Kevin O’Leary? Over the course of the episode, all will be revealed!

For those of you who do love it when the show pulls on the heartstrings, there will also be a chance throughout the episode to see an update segment featuring all of the Sharks. Be sure to refresh this article as the episode progresses.

Wine & Design – Want to have an artistic experience … and have it be something that involves wine? It’s a fun concept, but is it anything more?

The pitch was fun and utilized a lot of buzz-worthy visuals, including of course a naked dude serving as a model. In the end, though, what makes this business work is the untapped franchise potential that is here. They’ve done very well in this department, and that was enough to get Kevin O’Leary to bite with an offer that the company could not refuse.

Rocketbook – The idea is awesome — a reusable notebook that comes attached to an app, and gives you so many ways to keep track of notes.

There are times when personal perceptions don’t transfer over to what the Sharks think, and this is one of those times. Clearly, the idea of a techno-savvy, environmentally-friendly book wasn’t appealing to them. Nobody bought it, and now the company is leaving the Tank without a deal.

Laid Brand – It’s a line of hair-care products infused with pheromones to improve confidence and overall sense of style. Is that enough to make it stand out in an incredibly difficult category? That’s the question entering the Tank.

What doomed the company from the start seemed to be the name mixed with the Sharks’ own feedback — they couldn’t detect what made it special or different, and the sales weren’t huge enough to make it enticing enough for a deal.

Bridal Buddy – The idea seems useful — it makes it so that brides / women wearing layered ballroom gowns can actually use the bathroom. Yet, how many people have the foresight to get something like this in advance, let alone wear it?

The best thing about the pitch was just how inspiring this was — she wouldn’t let her past become a sob story, and she looked at it as a lesson.
