Once Upon a Time season 6 finale spoilers: Full The Final Battle details
Earlier this week, ABC revealed the full synopsis for both parts of the finale, and this indicates that we’re going to be seeing yet another alternate universe. Meanwhile, we are going to see Henry be put in a position where he could need to be the Savior because of a terrible crisis that could befall Emma. Specifically, said alternate universe is going to feature her in a terrible position, really devoid of much of her memories:
“Henry awakens to a cursed Storybrooke and discovers Emma has been in the mental hospital, and the Black Fairy is the new mayor. Henry attempts to help Emma regain her memory while Gold tries to find out what has really happened to Belle. Meanwhile, Snow, Charming, Regina, Zelena and Hook are trapped in a crumbling Fairy Tale Land and desperately try to figure out a way to be reunited with Emma and Henry.”
In reading much of this, it’s fairly clear that this is a pretty grim reality that the characters are facing, and this is probably all the more challenging when you consider the fact that Once Upon a Time has not been renewed just yet for a season 7 — and that Jennifer Morrison is for sure leaving. Over the course of this finale, you do have to hope that the show is going to find a way to tie together the story for her character. One other thing that you also have to remember here is that both Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas may also be departing the show, so there could be a need for closure here.
No matter what happens, we know Once Upon a Time fairly well at this point. This is a show that is often about embracing family, love, and happy endings. Therefore, we do feel fairly confident that the finale will set out to create some sort of tonal match to everything that we’ve seen before. Can you imagine the idea of the finale ending with a letdown?
