Absentia update: World premiere; another new Stana Katic photo

World premiere

What is this, three days in a row with Absentia updates? It’s surprising for sure, but also very much true! Who knew we’d be getting so much news this week?

Let’s first talk a little bit about the world premiere of the show, as confirmed by the official Twitter account in the post at the bottom of this article. Stana Katic and Patrick Heusinger, the two stars of the Sony AXN series, are going to be at the Monte Carlo TV Festival next month to celebrate the world premiere of the series. The festival takes place from June 16 to the 20th, and should be one of the premiere events of its kind (as it almost always is when it comes to international television).

While we won’t be in Monte Carlo (wouldn’t it be great if we were?), we’ll of course continue to doll out all sorts of coverage when it comes to the series at around that time.

Now, the other order of business when it comes to the show is the second official photo released by the show, this one featuring both Katic and Heusinger. Judging from the location and Katic’s clothing, this takes place in the same episode at roughly the same time as the first image. We just learned that her character’s name in the series will be Emily Byrne, a former FBI agent who is in the process of trying to determine what happened to her after being missing for five years. She has no memory of anything that happened, and the basis of this show is for the most part based on trying to piece much of that together. Some of the other characters, including Heusinger’s, should prove to be assets in having that happen. If you haven’t heart, Heusinger is playing her a fellow FBI agent and her husband … or at least he was her husband at the time of her disappearance. In their time apart, he has fallen in love with another woman and this woman is now helping to raise their child.

It’s clearly than ever that this scene is taking place within the confines of an FBI office, and Emily is being questioned potentially over her disappearance and a whole lot more. Sadly, some of these answers are not coming her way easily.

What do you think about this new photo, and the Monte Carlo TV Festival as the world premiere of Absentia? Share below! Our schedule for articles has been pretty thrown off, but for now expect the next one to come on Thursday.

Meanwhile, be sure to head over here to get some other news right now when it comes to the series. (Photo: Sony AXN.)
