Dancing with the Stars 24: Normani Kordei, Simone Biles, and trio dances
What we’ve got for you in terms of dance spoilers this time around are two different things. First, we’ve got the standard performances, which were actually chosen by the pros to suit the style and attitude of their partners.
Simone Biles & Sasha Farber – Foxtrot – “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction
Bonner Bolton & Sharna Burgess – Argentine Tango – “Believer” by Imagine Dragons
Rashad Jennings & Emma Slater – Jive – “Shake a Tail Feather” by Blues Brothers
Normani Kordei & Valentin Chmerkovskiy – Contemporary – “Freedom” by Anthony Hamilton and Elayna Boynton
David Ross & Lindsay Arnold – Waltz – “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw
We’ll be honest and say that we don’t actually know the majority of these songs all that well other than “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Humble and Kind” — with the latter feeling a little like sweet pandering. That never hurt anyone, right? The only style that we question here is Simone doing the foxtrot — if you had a choice, wouldn’t you give her something upbeat to highlight her athletic ability?
Now, let’s get to talking for a minute about the trio dances.
Simone Biles & Sasha Farber & Brittany Cherry – Paso Doblé – “Don’t Let Me Down” by The Chainsmokers featuring Daya
Bonner Bolton & Sharna Burgess & Britt Stewart – Jazz – “That’s What I Like” by Bruno Mars
Rashad Jennings & Emma Slater & Witney Carson – Argentine Tango – “Dreams” by Gabrielle Aplin & Bastille
Normani Kordei & Valentin Chmerkovskiy & Alan Bersten – Jive – “Feeling Alive” by Earl St. Clair
David Ross & Lindsay Arnold & Hayley Erbert – Paso Doblé – “Gangsta’s Paradise” by 2WEI
A number of these troupe members have connections to either this season or reality TV. For example, Bersten worked with Heather Morris while Val’s brother Maksim was injured. Meanwhile, Witney was eliminated at the start of this season. Odds are you know Brittany and Hayley if you are So You Think You Can Dance fans; Britt Stewart is the only person here we’re not that familiar with, but she’s done work with Katy Perry and has appeared in La La Land, High School Musical, and many other projects over time.
