Stranger Things 2 picks up Nashville alum Will Chase
According to a new report coming in courtesy of TVLine, Chase is going to be recurring throughout Stranger Things season 2 on Netflix as Neil Mayfield, the father of some kids who are arriving in Indiana from California. Stranger Things season 1 left us with a pretty big cliffhanger (spoilers ahead) as we saw the character of Will merging the real world and the dream world, so it’ll be interesting to see how these new kids will be involved the already existing story.
Chase joins Lord of the Rings / Goonies alum Sean Astin and Paul Reiser of Mad About You as the latest additions to the cast, who have been hard at work for a little while getting the new season together. The specific story is shrouded in mystery, but did you expect nothing less? This is a show about imagination, about surprise, and about things that go bump in the night. More so than the majority of the shows out there, whether they be comedies, dramas, or anything of the like, this is a show that thrives on its secrecy and not lifting the veil too much on anything that is coming up.
Unfortunately, the wait on lifting said veil is a long one — season 2 is expected to premiere sometime around Halloween, based on what Netflix said during Super Bowl Weekend. That does feel like the right time to premiere the show, but it is later than the season 1 launch date. Just consider that an opportunity for more people to binge-watch, get caught up, and join the party alongside everyone else who already had an opportunity to check out the series.
For those of you who are Nashville fans and are waiting to know when season 5 is going to be returning, it will be coming up this summer on CMT.
