Arrow season 5 episode 20 promo: Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards’ hour

Emily Bett

If you’re looking forward to Arrow season 5 episode 20, odds are that you’re a big fan of Oliver and Felicity. It’s been known for a long time that “Underneath” is set to be a key Stephen Amell – Emily Bett Rickards episode, as you get a chance to see more of where Oliver and Felicity stand with each other. They will spend the entire episode together, and this will be one of the few episodes of the show that does feel a little bit like a bottle episode.

Now, we present a few more specifics courtesy of The CW.

Arrow season 5 episode 20 synopsis – “Things get intense when Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) are trapped in the bunker together. Meanwhile, Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Andreson) and Diggle (David Ramsey) deal with their martial issues.”

The reason that this isn’t a complete bottle episode is because you’ll be spending a little time elsewhere with some other characters like Diggle and Lyla, even if Oliver and Felicity are not joining them. In general, this feels like an episode central to relationships and who people lead on during difficult times. For Diggle, this is a chance to get some more personal insight into how he’s coping with various things, from the battle with Prometheus to also the fact that Flashpoint apparently changed his daughter into a son. It’s a challenging thing that he has to deal with — he bears no responsibility, but there is still an odd sense of loss associated with it.

Overall, be prepared for a great, emotional hour that hopefully gives these characters the emotional ammunition needed to take on some of the big battles coming up.

Promo – This gives you a little bit more insight into just how Oliver and Felicity are trapped, and how they could struggle to find their way out. The show probably needed to come up with a device in order to get these two characters to talk about their issues, and this could be it. We’re fine with that, given that it’s exciting and it gives the two a chance to assess things.
