NCIS season 14 episode 20 spoilers: Alex Quinn’s mother and more
NCIS season 14 episode 20 synopsis – “After a vice admiral’s laptop is infected with ransomware, he enlists McGee and the NCIS team to track down the hacker before the computer virus eliminates his personal and professional files. Also, Alex takes time off to assist her mother, Marie Quinn (Mercedes Ruehl), after she receives a “911” text.”
If we were to try and draw some sort of parallel here, we’d say that this installment is in some ways similar to the one we had recently that shined a light on Wilmer Valderrama and his character of Nick Torres. You’re getting a chance to get some attention paid on a new character for the season, which is important if the plan is to have them be around for an extended period of time. It’s also something that you’ve got a good bit of room to try and do when you consider for a minute how many episodes the show has. When you’ve got 24 installments in a season, that affords you this wonderful opportunity to create new stories and expand your narrative outward in some new and interesting directions. That is something that is a little more challenging when you are dealing with a show that has a smaller batch of installments and everything has to be a bit more streamlined.
We’ve come to really like Quinn as a character. Therefore, the more opportunities that we have to explore her history, the better off we’re going to get. Hopefully, this episode also gives you a lot of good content given that there will be a small hiatus after it for much of the month of April. It’ll be back later in the month, where it will begin the final four episodes and the path towards the big finale. (Remember, you can see when many shows are ending by checking out our new Finale Guide article over at the link here.)
