Elementary season 5 episode 19 return date: When’s it back on CBS?
For whatever reason, CBS has opted to not share any information on the upcoming Elementary season 5 episode 19 other than that it’s going to be airing on Sunday, April 9, and it could be potentially a springboard like no other to an exciting final arc of episodes to close off the season. There are six more installments still to go, and that offers up a good bit of time for the Jonny Lee Miller series to unleash a few different surprises on us.
What we’d like to see is some sort of epic mystery that is threaded through the final six, even if this is not one of those situations where it is the only thing going on in the episode. Maybe the show could benefit from a split procedural / serialized format, where you have a case of the week and then something larger and more substantial. To a certain extent, we suppose that it’s been there at times with Shinwell. We’d just like to see it stretched out more than just an episode here or there.
Obviously at the top of our dream list would be a return for Natalie Dormer as Moriarty, but that’s not something we’re getting much of an indication of at present. With her doing movies, there may not be any room in the actress’ schedule for it to happen … let alone the show’s budget.
These final episodes are going to be integral in working to ensure the future of the series on CBS. As of right now, it’s one of the few regular shows on its schedule not renewed, and the ratings have been down big this season in the 18-49 demographic. We hope that whatever is written as the finale this season could serve as either an end to the season or the series, given that there’s a good chance that we’re not going to be seeing it come back for a season 6 down the road.
