Big Brother Canada 5 – Dallas Cormier exit interview: Pots, pans, and the unanimous vote

Dallas Cormier exit interview

Dallas Cormier is the ultimate bull-in-a-china-shop player within Big Brother Canada. He’s loud, he’s brash, he stirs stuff up, and he gets himself in trouble. In his second time in the game, he unfortunately managed to stir stuff up a little too early. Because of Dillon Carman winning the Power of Veto, he found himself put on the block as a replacement nominee. In the end, it was a unanimous vote to send him out the door after a chaotic few days.

So what went into his decision-making in the house, in particular when it comes to that infamous pots-and-pans moment on the live feeds? Was there a reason for the unanimous vote? Check out our Dallas Cormier exit interview below for some answers.

CarterMatt – What made you decide to go to pots and pans? Was that some sort of Evel Dick tribute?

Dallas Cormier – I channeled a little bit of Evel Dick, for sure. I had a very strong [indication] that I was going to go home the next day. I love the chaos inside the house. I love ruffling some feathers. What are they going to do to me if I’m already going home? I might as well try to make their life hell. I emptied out all of the pepper and all the condiments for the slop. I put steak sauce and mustard in the shampoo bottle. I started running around with pots and pans saying ‘it … ain’t easy … being Big Deezy.’ I woke up EVERY person inside that house.

You would think that this would make sure that nobody would want to vote for me the next day, but when I woke up the next morning there were still six votes to keep me! We just couldn’t find that seventh vote. We couldn’t get Demetres to budge, even though I tried to convince him otherwise. I told him ‘hey man, look at the shenanigans I just pulled off,’ [but] he was playing a little more conservatively. He said ‘there’s a big player in front of me who I can take out,’ and I understand it. I can’t say ‘oh, he’s an idiot.’ He probably made a good move.

I knew that I had the six votes, but I told them to not give me any sympathy votes. Don’t sabotage your own game, and just make this a unanimous decision.

Out of the new players, who do you think is playing the best?

Jackie and Dre. Jackie, watch out for her. Jackie is going to be one of the smartest people when it comes to competitions the day they happen. As for Dre, she’s going to be a comp beast here — I had a ton of confidence in her. My money’s on them to go the furthest.

Do you think that it hurt your game coming back in back-to-back seasons? Did that make it harder for people to forget about you?

That could be a possibility. But, I really enjoyed coming back to back! That’s something that doesn’t happen very often, even in the US. So, to have that opportunity to play for $200,000 in two years — that doesn’t come around very often. I don’t look at it as a disadvantage. It is what it is. I was blessed for the opportunity, so I can’t say ‘oh, they brought me back too early.’
