The Amazing Race 29 video: Phil Keoghan previews the cast!

The Amazing Race 29 -

It is fair to say that The Amazing Race 29 is different than any other version of the show, and it’s all thanks to the people who are taking part on it. This is almost like the Blind Date season on steroids, with the big different here being that the whole pretense of romance is gone — which is good, given that didn’t really work at all.

In its place, you have eleven new teams who are meeting one another for the first time. They have to figure out how to get along, what their strengths and weaknesses are, and if they can complete all of the tasks necessary to win the grand prize. The one thing that we’re going to say here is that this could end up being a complete disaster. What if nobody gets along and you cannot edit anyone favorably to save your life? What if teams get along so much that there’s no drama and they’re on their best behavior? The one thing that we will say is that with the limited episode count, it’s going to be challenging to fit all of the getting-to-know-you stuff in there at the same time as the teams are racing all around the world. It’s one of those occasions where we wish there was enough time in the schedule for the show to have a 90-minute premiere, but that doesn’t seem to be happening.

We suppose that it’s hard for us to complain in the end, given that there was also a time in which we thought we’d be waiting until well into the month of April in order to see the new season, let alone meet the cast.

In the video below, Phil Keoghan previews some of the racers, and also explains how the idea was born out of so many people saying over the years that the would love to do the Race, but don’t have anyone to do it with. You meet all of the participants in here, and it gets you ready to go for the new season.

Let’s conclude this article by saying this: We really hope that everyone out there who loves the show watches it live. It’s too painful to think of there not being a season 30 of The Amazing Race given that we’ve been on this journey with the show for so long. Speaking of The Amazing Race season 30 head on over to the link here to read some of our thoughts.
