NCIS: New Orleans season 3, episode 17 preview: Two hours, one night!

NCIS: New Orleans season 3, episode 17 -

For those excited to see NCIS: New Orleans season 3, episode 17, here’s some good news: The show will be back before long! Not only that, but it will be back with two episodes in a row! There are back-to-back installments airing on March 14, and this will help the show get up to speed with the flagship one. Not only that, but it is going to give you a chance to see some big events and worthy guest stars.

Hopefully, this move will also prove itself to be a little bit of a ratings boost to the show, given that we do think that it could certainly benefit from a little bit of a bump right now. Is it in any danger of being canceled? No, but ratings have dropped in season 3, and it will be interesting for comparison’s sake to see how it does as opposed to Bull (which is in repeats next week) in the 9:00 p.m. Eastern timeslot.

Now that we’ve gotten all of this speculation and ratings discussion out of the way, why not go ahead and share some further news about the story itself?

Season 3, episode 17, “Swift, Silent, Deadly” (there is a very obvious and very juvenile joke buried in here) – “A highly credentialed and skilled special ops marine sends Pride and the NCIS team on a city-wide manhunt after he assaults six men in a bar.”

Season 3, episode 18, “Slay the Dragon” – “Tammy is reunited with her ex-husband, Ethan McKinley (Ed Quinn), who disappeared after embezzling $80 million in Katrina relief funds, after he is linked to the murder of a crime boss’ son.”

All of this does sound compelling, but we imagine that “Slay the Dragon” is going to be in particular impactful when you think for a minute about the show is taking on. Katrina is such a difficult, touchy subject, and it is rooted now unfortunately in the history of New Orleans. It’s something that just cannot be avoided, and the show is being bold in taking it on.
