Riverdale episode 7 preview: Jughead’s father and other drama

Jughead's father -

In between further evidence on Jason’s murder and Jughead’s biker father, all signs are pointing towards Riverdale episode 7 being an emotional one and then some. Jughead is going to be forced to come to grips with some matters from the past, and there will be this big, philosophical question of whether or not the sins of the father end up being passed along to the son. There is a reason why he’s become the guy that he is, and there is still room for this to be explored especially since we have seen already that while Jughead’s dad is part of a biker gang, his son decided he would rather live in an old movie house then be with his dad. Jughead is looking to pick a path with a lot less crime attached to it.

For actor Cole Sprouse, next week’s episode “In a Lonely Place” is going to be one of his best showcases of his abilities on the show to date. Even the title seems to be a reference to his character who has been pretty much an outcast so far this season. The promo below is largely all about him, and you see him in the closing minutes demanding a lawyer. If this doesn’t make you a little bit antsy, what will?

Thanks to the episode description below, we know that there will of course be plenty of other drama ahead for some of the other characters, as well.

Synopsis – “When a major piece of evidence is mysteriously destroyed, new rumors begin to swirl as to who was really behind Jason’s murder. Tensions build when Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) father returns to the fray and it’s revealed that he and Fred (Luke Perry) have some unresolved issues between them. Meanwhile, Veronica (Camila Mendes) takes matters into her own hands after her fight with Hermione (Marisol Nichols). Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) approaches Betty (Lili Reinhart) with an unexpected proposal that leaves Betty torn.”

Will we get a few answers to the Jason murder in this episode? Maybe, but that’s not at the top of our own personal priority list entering the hour. To us, we just want to see the show continue a pattern of alternating strong character stories so we become even more deeply involved in this group then we already are. The characters will be what remains of the show once the Jason mystery is resolved, so the deeper they can pull us into their lives the better.
