‘The Good Fight’ episode 2 preview: ‘First Week’ brings the show to CBS All Access only

Good Fight -Tonight is going to be an incredibly interesting night for CBS, as the network launches for the first time their highly-anticipated “Good Wife” spin-off “The Good Fight.” The first episode is airing on the network proper close to the show’s old timeslot, but following this, we’re going to be seeing the show transfer over to the CBS All Access platform only, where it is going to air weekly for the remainder of the series.

There are so many questions that we have for this, but the biggest one is really so simple as whether or not this is an experiment that is going to actually work. You have to remember first and foremost that CBS All Access is not a service with a plethora of original content. It’s great for those of you who want to watch old episodes of some of your favorite shows, at times commercial-free if you’ve got the more expensive plan, but many viewers of this show may already have a DVR. Remember, this is a show that does tend to adhere more to an upscale crowd than the average show on TV. They may have seen or have recorded many other CBS shows.

“The Good Fight” is getting great buzz and many people may love the premiere, but we’re going to be interested in seeing how many people will be paying for it and mostly it. It’s a little different than “Big Brother,” where you can get live feeds through there that are pretty all-consuming.

CBS hasn’t released too many details about upcoming episodes of “The Good Fight,” but we know that the second installment is entitled “First Week,” and the title largely speaks for itself — you’re going to be getting some chances to see how Diane and Maia get adjusted to their new reality — which is probably not going to be a perfect situation by any means.
