‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi’s hometown-date struggles

Vanessa -There are many hometown dates on “The Bachelor” that can really be defined with one word: Boring. The guy shows us, says hello to everyone, and has some passive-aggressive confrontation before being sent along his way. There’s not all THAT much to take away from most of them as a result.

Yet, we do think there’s something a little more fascinating about what could be coming for Nick and Vanessa Grimaldi Monday night. While we’ve absolutely had Canadian contestants on the show before, we can’t recall there being another situation in which we saw a Bachelor head off to Quebec. It’s such a different culture than anywhere else we’ve seen the show go in North America, and to add to that, Vanessa also has a very different sort of job teaching students with special needs. It’s a labor of love for her, and that should make you question further whether or not this is a relationship that the two parties could make work in the end.

For more details, here is what ABC had to offer:

“There is a double test waiting for Nick in Montreal when Vanessa takes him to visit her special-needs students and her family. Her students are enthusiastically receptive, but her family has serious concerns about where the couple would live and how Vanessa will manage if she is asked to move away from the people and places she has held dear to her. Her father doesn’t help matters by sharing some information about Nick that has Vanessa questioning whether she will get her fairytale ending.”

What we’d absolutely LOVE to see on the show someday is a season of “The Bachelor” where the leading man actually moves to where his fiancee lives — we suppose that this happened to a certain extent with Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff, but that was a little bit of a different situation because they were naturally so close to each other in the first place. Nick would be going all the way from Los Angeles to Montreal. That’s a HUGE move, but Nick should consider it! There are certainly plenty of things that he could do up there, and it’s hardly a small city. We actually looked it up — the only cities in America with a larger population are LA, New York City, Chicago, and Houston.

If Nick chooses Vanessa, should he move to Montreal — and what do you think will be his biggest issue on this date? Share in the comments, and head over here to get some further news on “The Bachelor” and this upcoming episode right now. (Photo: ABC.)
