‘Chicago PD’ season 4 spoilers: Esai Morales to recur
For everyone out there who wanted to see even more notable names from the TV world stop by “Chicago PD,” we now bring you the following report on Esai Morales.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Morales is going to be recurring over the course of the fourth season in the role of Chief Lugo, a man who knows the ins and outs of the Chicago Police Department incredibly well — it’s hard not to when you’ve been with the department for thirty years! Despite having an “old-school” upbringing in the force, though, he is going to be looking in order to try to bring about some change in the department. He wants to see many of them adapt to a new way of doings things, one that in many instances may end up actually being better in many instances. (Given how old-school Voight is, who knows just how receptive he’s going to be to all of this?)
You’re going to get a chance to first see Morales on the upcoming March 1 crossover between this show, “Chicago Fire,” and the new series “Chicago Justice.” This event is meant to give you a great sense of how the new show factors into the larger universe, and some of the compelling cases that you’re going to see throughout it. Following the conclusion of the crossover, rest assured that you will continue to see Morales appear across some other “Chicago PD” episodes moving forward this season — we’re always down to see characters who are higher up on the food chain than Voight, mostly because this is bringing in such a different dimension and someone who could potentially hold him accountable for some of his actions.
Morales is certainly someone who should be familiar to many TV fans out there. Beyond just his appearances on “NYPD Blue,” he’s also turned up in big roles on “24” and “Criminal Minds.”
