‘Supergirl’ season 2 welcoming Mr. Mxyzptlk from Superman comics

Supergirl -

Given that “Supergirl” on The CW is one of the more comedic and lighthearted comic-book villains that is out there, it only makes sense that the show would also present one of the more lighthearted villains from the world of Superman.

As first reported by ComicBook.com, the series is looking to bring the impossible-to-pronounce Mr. Mxyzptlk onto the show for at least two episodes moving forward this season. The character is a mischievous / impish character from another dimension, one whose powers largely seem to dictate being a major pain for any hero that runs into him. He’s not your garden-variety villain, but he is still dangerous given that he’s a particularly-big fan of chaos and loves to see that rain down on just about anyone that he comes into contact with.

There are some darker interpretations of the character out there, but “dark” is not a word that we would use in reference to this show anytime soon. This is meant more as a series that celebrates heroism doesn’t want to see many of its characters suffer for a long period of time.

Whenever the character does surface, it is not going to be for a lengthy span of time. “Supergirl” season 2 is on hiatus now following the events of the winter finale a.k.a. the first part of the crossover, and it is going to return in January. Also presumably on the docket for the rest of the season is more news on Lillian Luther, plus also a musical crossover with “The Flash.”

If you do find yourself interested in getting some additional news on “Supergirl,” be sure to head over to the link here right now to learn more about how the Dominators, one of the most-ruthless villains in the history of the show, is going to be returning a little bit later in the season.
