‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2, episode 8 (winter finale): Legion of Doom, assemble!

Legion of Doom -

Tonight, DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” on The CW is going to be saying farewell to the epic superhero crossover event that spanned all of their shows within the genre, and what’s going to be interesting about this now is the transition from that to everything that is coming on the big finale next week. The title is “The Chicago Way,” but it may as well be “Meet the Legion of Doom” given how a big part of the story moving forward is going to revolve around getting to see this entire crew in action. We imagine that it’s going to be fun and very action-packed, so let’s see how the story winds down within the closing minutes of it

Synopsis – “When a new Time Aberration is discovered by the Legends, they find themselves headed to 1927 Chicago. The Legends quickly realize that they have been set up by Eobard Thawne (guest star Matt Letscher), Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and the newest member of the Legion of Doom, Malcolm Merlyn (guest start John Barrowman). While everyone is trying to help fix what they think is the mission, Jax (Franz Drameh) encourages a reluctant Stein (Victor Garber) to share his secret with the other Legends. Stein is taken captive and Sara (Caity Lotz) must make the tough choice of either stopping the Legion of Doom or saving Stein. Meanwhile, Rory (Dominic Purcell) gets an unexpected visitor and is not sure how to handle it.”

We don’t think we’re giving this away given that it’s already been reported, but this is going to be the episode that features the big return of Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart a.k.a. Captain Cold. While we’re not entirely sure how he is coming back, he’s going to be rounding out the Legion and be working in opposition to his former partner and the Legends for a good chunk of this season at the very least.

Following this winter finale, we anticipate seeing the show off of the air until January. Commence your tears of sadness now, and we’ll join you in a minute.
