‘MacGyver’ episode 10 preview: When will Lucas Till, cast return with new episodes?

MacGyver -The past nine or so weeks have served as an excellent introduction to the new version of “MacGyver” on CBS, and judging from some of the reaction we’ve seen across the internet, the reviews for the most part are also getting better and better over time.

Unfortunately, the show’s about to jump forward now into a situation it’s a little less familiar with, and that is uncharted waters in terms of the future. There is no new episode of the series, starring Lucas Till and George Eads, on CBS next week. The big reason for that is simply a matter of next week being Black Friday, and there will be so many people either shopping or traveling that day that the last thing that you want to do is run the risk of losing viewers because of that — especially when you are a new show.

What may be a little bit more of a surprise to some people out there is that, per the Futon Critic, there is not another new episode scheduled until “Pliers” on December 9. Maybe the show’s going to give us one or two installments in that month, and then after that we’ll almost certainly be off of the air until January. We don’t imagine that CBS wants to compete against the holidays any more than they have to, but before we get to that point it’d be a lot of fun if we got a Christmas episode. No guarantee that is going to happen, though.

For the time being, let’s just hope the show continues to capture what is best about the “MacGyver” brand: Tremendous action sequences, plus also some moments along the way where we do come to care about the main characters.
