‘Supergirl’ season 2, episode 6 preview: James Olsen officially becomes Guardian
On tonight’s new episode of “Supergirl” on The CW, you’re going to see the foundation laid and then some for James Olsen becoming one of the newest crime-fighters in National City. Moving into next week’s new episode entitled “Changing,” meanwhile, we’re going to see him put many of his thoughts and ideas more into action. He will firmly become the new alter-ego Guardian, and we absolutely imagine that there is going to be some excitement that goes along with that.
Unfortunately, there’s not going to be a whole lot of time to celebrate! Based on some early inclinations, we could end up seeing James in trouble in the early going, and to make matters worse, we certainly don’t expect things to be a whole lot better for Supergirl, either.
Synopsis – “The Guardian debuts to lend a hand after a parasite alien drains Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) of her power. Mon-El (Chris Wood) considers a less than desirable new career which then leads him to contemplate his motives. Alex (Chyler Leigh) struggles with a new reality.”
The Alex part of this story is probably something that will become a little more clear after this episode airs, and the same goes with Mon-El. Hopefully, that is the sort of stuff that we’re going to have a little bit more in the way of insight about as we get a little bit deeper into the story.
In general, though, there are advantages and disadvantages to throwing so many different candidates out into the field at a single time. While you can celebrate potentially the fact that there are a lot of people out there capable of saving the day, at the same time you also have to consider that without some people waiting in the wings and taking care of things behind the scenes, you could leave National City in a fairly unstable position.
Promo – There’s not really much of the Guardian in here; instead, we’ve got a villain that seems almost like a monster who gets more powerful with the more energy they drain; consider this another freaky CADMUS creation.
