‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: First details on full ‘Killer Frost’ episode

Caitlin -

The Killer Frost character on “The Flash” seemingly disappeared on Earth-2 this past season, but on this past episode, we started to see that Caitlin Snow within our standard universe is starting to develop similar powers. This is exciting in one way, but at the same time somewhat scary since you’re potentially seeing a character we once identified as good start to develop powers that could be used for alternative and rather-nefarious uses.

This brings us to the upcoming episode entitled “Killer Frost,” which is going to be airing on Tuesday, November 22. This will be a story that brings us closer to the upcoming epic crossover event, but more than that it will be the first true emergence of the villain within as Caitlin’s powers send her into overdrive. We don’t often share synopses this early, but this one is so epic that it’s pretty darn impossible not to:

“Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) uses her powers to save Barry (Grant Gustin) but as her mother predicted, the effort unleashes her inner Killer Frost. Killer Frost goes on a rampage looking for Dr. Alchemy, kidnapping Julian (Tom Felton) and battling both The Flash and Vibe (Carlos Valdes). Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) have a heart to heart talk.”

After reading something like this, we have to hope that this episode isn’t just going to resolve Caitlin as a meta-human, and this is a struggle that remains for much of the rest of the season. On paper, this looks almost like one of those “all-out” supervillain stories where you get a definite resolution by the end of the hour. How do you recover from a “rampage”? It’s hard to understand everything going on without proper context, but our ultimate hope is that Caitlin will eventually be able to understand that some of her powers, if properly controlled, could end up being an asset to the team. Just because Killer Frost is a villain through most of the comics doesn’t mean this iteration necessarily has to be. Providing you’re not watering down her abilities (H2O pun intentional), we’ll be fine with the end result.
