‘The Flash’ season 3, episode 4 preview: Prepare for Mirror Master, The Top, ‘The New Rogues’

Tonight, “The Flash” season 3 is providing you with a story that will introduce the character of Magenta to the world. Moving beyond that, we’re going to get a chance to see a couple of other notable villains in Mirror Master (one of our own personal favorites) and The Top. Almost everything with this upcoming episode feels fun on paper, so the main question comes down to whether or not the story lives up to these expectations.

Synopsis – “Barry (Grant Gustin) continues to train Jesse (guest star Violett Beane) and when a new meta human, Mirror Master (guest star Grey Damon), appears on the scene he lets her tag along. Mirror Master has teamed up with his old partner, Top (guest star Ashley Rickards), and is looking for Snart (Wentworth Miller) to even a score. Jesse is quick to join the chase but defies one of Barry’s orders which results in disastrous consequences.”

So aside from the villains, which feel like they will be a focal point in this story, the big excitement in this story could come out of seeing what Barry Allen is like as a teacher for other speedsters. In the Flashpoint universe, he didn’t really have to do that with Kid Flash. This is a particularly skill set that he still is not used to, but it is one that he could need to hone. If he just makes one wrong move, it could cause her landing in some serious danger.

Promo – Based on this preview, the show could be going for a pretty comedic portrayal of Mirror Master, which could be fine from the vantage point of the character’s powers. Our hope is mostly just that this episode due still find cool ways to use him, since we know his powers are reasonably abstract.
