Mrs Carter: Will Stiles and Lydia get together this season?
The sixth season of “Teen Wolf” is finally coming to MTV later this year, and for fans of one couple in particular, there remain many questions. Will Stiles and Lydia, after such a lengthy period of uncertainty, finally give the good news that many fans have been hoping for?
Earlier this year, there were rumors starting to surface regarding whether or not something big could happen between the two very early in the season, but given everything that has happened since, there are no guarantees we’ll see it. At this point (covering TV shows as long as we have), we’ve learned that we never want to take anything for granted. What we know is that these two have been on a lengthy journey that has so far produced a solid friendship, and that if they do want to be in a relationship someday, often the best way to do that is to start off as friends.
In the latest chapter of our monthly ‘Shiptober series, we’re going to take a deeper look at what the two have going for them, and what could be holding them back.
The case for Stiles and Lydia – If they are ever going to get together, it’s now-or-never given that this is the final season. We know the chemistry is there, and maybe the two are going to be in a place where they are more open to something like this. Pairing the two characters up could also give fans a little bit of romance in what may be a dry season elsewhere in that department; just remember that Arden Cho (Kira) seems to be gone, so romance may not be a priority for Scott, at least in the early going.
The case against it – Is there even going to be time for such a pairing to happen? All indicators suggest that Stiles will be wiped out of existence by the Ghost Riders at the start of season 6, and we don’t want to see the show rush something solely for the sake of appeasing fans. We also wonder how much of Dylan O’Brien we will have this season in general, due to both his work on the latest “Maze Runner” movie and a subsequent serious injury he suffered during production. There is of course also an argument from people who ‘ship Stiles with Malia or someone else that it’s just not meant to be. Such matters are typically subjective.
