‘Bones’ season 12: Premiere date speculation, more for Emily Deschanel – David Boreanaz drama

Tonight, the “Bones” finale is airing on Fox, but as many a diehard fan knows at present, this is far from the end of the road for the series! There is one more season still to come, even if it is a shorter batch of episodes and it is not premiering for some time.

Unfortunately, as of right now it is far too early to speculate on when that premiere date will be. While it was originally scheduled for the fall, the decision to move up the baseball drama “Pitch” (which may have been smart to coincide with MLB playoffs) has pushed the Emily Deschanel – David Boreanaz series back to midseason. January / February are fair guesses right now, since we figure that Fox doesn’t want the show running into the summer again for a 13-episode final season. Then again, you also have to remember that we’re still many months out from the premiere, and this can almost certainly change.

If there is one silver lining we have, just look at it this way: We least you didn’t run out of new “Bones” episodes to watch until this week! (Sure, that was due to another ridiculously long midseason hiatus by Fox, coupled with them being super-conservative when it comes to not airing new episodes even remotely around the Fourth of July.)

Given what we expect to see during tonight’s episode in terms of a cliffhanger, though, we imagine that this wait between seasons could be a little more painful than a typical one.
