‘UnREAL’ season 2, episode 4 preview: Quinn uses Taylor Swift for tears
Sure, this sneak peek below is incredibly cynical, but so is this show! Basically, Quinn tells some of the women that they need to get choked-up over Darius leaving for the hospital, a move that she orchestrated in part because of the injury that he suffers during the episode … one stemming from what we’ve seen so far. When none of the ladies tear up, she then tells them to imagine that Taylor has passed them up to be a part of her squad, and that seems to (surprisingly, or unsurprisingly) does the trick.
Yes, clearly most of the people on here are vapid, and the real joke here to us seems to be that Quinn is asking them to have sympathy for someone who at this point they all barely know. “Everlasting” has not gone so far into production yet that these women are at the point where they start to get hyper-sensitive to every little thing about the guy, and nobody’s feelings are particularly deep as of yet.
We will be back soon with a review for this episode, which we hope does show a little bit more vulnerability from someone among the production. We do like the Rachel / Coleman relationship for now, even though we’re not so sure it’ll have a happy ending.
