‘Empire’ season 2, episode 16 preview: What’s next for Andre, Lucious after big reveal?

Wednesday night’s “Empire” is one that, at least at times, tried to really emphasize the whole “family first” motto. After all, Hakeem showed up at the hospital to care for Anika and his unborn child; ultimately, he was trying to do “the right thing,” which is something that we know does always come easy for the guy. Just look at some of his role models! That’s a pretty easy way to figure out that he does not always have a lot of groundwork in his life.

Next week, we’re going to have an episode called “The Lyon Who Cried Wolf” that seems to have a number of big reveals, including Andre really starting to pursue something that could wreck what Lucious has planned. (Yep, that totally is learning the truth about Lucious’ mother not really being dead.)

The synopsis below also hints that we’re going to see Rhonda put more of the pieces together in terms of what happened to her, which could set the stage for everything that is coming the rest of the way this season:

“A wrench is thrown into Lucious’ deeply personal music video about his mother, when Andre discovers a dark secret. Meanwhile, Hakeem and Jamal are compromised after pursuing secretive affairs. Then, Rhonda starts to suspect who her attacker was.”

The promo below makes it extremely clear precisely what is coming up, as you’re going to be seeing Lucious’ mother in the flesh as she meets her son for the first time in presumably ever. His reaction in so many ways really speaks for itself.
