‘Quantico’ episode 17 preview: Will Simon get himself killed helping Alex?
Over the past episode or two on “Quantico,” we’ll give Simon a little bit of credit for acting as though he truly is a good friend to Alex, and being one of the few people who she has been able to trust through her current dilemma with the terrorist.
Of course, here is the problem with all of this: If you work with Alex, you have to expect at some point everything to come crashing down around you. This is precisely what we could end up seeing on next week’s big episode entitled “Care,” as it is suggested in the synopsis below:
“At Quantico, the NATs’ current assignment is to learn about human trafficking when Liam and Miranda challenge them to cross the U.S. / Canadian border without passports. Meanwhile, in the future, Simon continues to help Alex try to find the terrorist, but doing so puts his own life in great risk.”
Now that we’ve gotten that out there into the universe, let’s pause for a moment to have a little bit of real-talk. How many people out there really are interested in watching a story play out about border crossings? This isn’t a CNN debate featuring Donald Trump, people! Political humor aside, our criticisms of the Quentico story are mostly based around the fact that the more exciting stuff seems to be elsewhere, and we’d rather focus on what Alex is going through there, given that we can just assume at this point that she went through hell and back while training at the Academy.
