‘Criminal Minds’ season 11, episode 18 preview: ‘A Beautiful Disaster’ may be huge Shemar Moore hour
Tonight, “Criminal Minds” aired an all-new episode entitled “The Sandman” that had a very creepy, at-times terrifying story from start to finish. So where are we going from here? Think along the lines of a story entitled “A Beautiful Disaster.”
What is the most interesting about this episode at the moment is simply how little we know about this installment. This is, after all, only a week away, and typically CBS opts to release synopses or at least some sort of information before now about what to expect. Ultimately, it’s rather unusual that they opted to not go through with it. It certainly makes you wonder if they were trying to hide something big in their actual episode airing Wednesday night.
Now that we’ve seen the episode, we understand why: The gunshot. Clearly, CBS didn’t want to tip off something happening to Morgan yet again. You don’t want to tip off something that is potentially that dramatic, and you also want to do everything that you can to build anticipation for it. Hopefully, we’ll have at least a promo for you soon so that we can better analyze some of what is coming up.
The biggest question that we have is this: Can Morgan cheat death twice? Can he find a way to make it through this latest bout of pain? The only other hope that we have is maybe the gunshot didn’t hit him, but there is only so long that the show is going to be able to pull that “he’s not dead” stunt without it getting cheesy.
Update: We’ve now got the promo below for you, and the good news is that Derek’s still alive in it … but that’s the only good news.

When Garcia says “He’s walking into a trap!’ Rossi, JJ and Reid are watching over her shoulder. But where is Hotch? I have seen every episode of CM and want it to go on forever, But I will stop watching if it’s Thomas Gibson who leaves.

I can’t take garcia nor Morgan leaving. Every character is important, but can you see the show without Morgan or garcia? I love all of them but these 2 are closer to my heart. So please don’t kill either of them off.

Since MGG said this last summer that he is directing an episode where a “regular” is leaving the show…and he’s directing this coming episode…and with all that’s happenedthe past couple of weeks… I think it’s fairly safe to assume that Morgan is either leaving or dying…

I rewatched the promo a few times… I’m wondering now if they are pulling a bait and switch. Morgan walks into the house and sees the video feeds of what looks like the hospital corridor and three other places… Perhaps they’re feeds of BAU members? And what looks at first like him saying “Baby Girl” and then being shot, actually now seems to be him *watching* something bad happen (maybe on the screens) as he says “Baby Girl” … So maybe it’s not Derek who dies or leaves, but one of the other team members? Just a thought. I really hope it’s not Garcia either!

Uhhh, the episode after next Wednesday is titled “TRIBUTE”, also with no synopsys….I guess they’re hitting us over the head with this one. You don’t pay tribute to a character that is still living. R.I.P. Derek Morgan…..

correct. if you watch the preview for ep 18, you seem morgan go off on his own and the others say hes walking into a trap. then you see a gun with morgan calling Garcia “babygirl” on the phone

The guy that plays Spencer said at the beginning of this season that he was a directing an episode this season that involved a team member leaving! This is that episode so someone is defiantly leaving the show! I’m just hoping that it’s too obvious for it to be Derek!

I sure hope they don’t kill anyone off, that will give them an excuse for coming back if they are just wounded and need time off. Especially since Savannah is having a baby. Derrick may just need some time with his wife and baby for a while. Here’s hoping.

Yes, it does. But, if his wife or the baby dies, I think that will be the end of Derrick. Perhaps he’s being written out of the show as Gideon, Emily, and the other person that died last week. When I saw the episode, my first thought was perhaps the show is coming to an end, as it seems that the BAU crew lately have been targeted, and the new spinoff Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. I don’t know if I can continue watching the show if Derrick and Garcia goes off the show. All of the team of good, but those two I just love, next being Spencer.

I don’t think this means the show is ending this storyline happened before with hodge and his family this maybe dereks way out or it could be another team member and they are making us think it is derek but i think the show will continue next season. The show didn’t clapse when emily and gideon left so i think the show will go on. I think he will be missed but i still think this show has life and to be honest when they had derek become a father i had a feeling his days were numbered as well emily is coming back for an episode so maybe this is why. I think of late derek has taken a back seat but i think as sad as it is the show can go on (not to mention agents die in real life so it just raises the stakes in the show they have killed agents like when emily died but it was fake and it didn’t really hit home with strauss) I can’t see garcia leaving but i don’t see criminal minds going anywhere and will be back next season

Yeah I have a feeling they are finding a way to end the show for good. I’m getting sad already just thinking about it. I have seen every single show. Don’t want them to end
