‘The Walking Dead’ season 6: Show boss on possible episode 10 time jump

Given how the majority of “The Walking Dead” season 6A took place over an extremely short period of time, shouldn’t there be something interesting said for the show now deciding to jump forward a little bit in time? Maybe this is a chance for the show to reset following the latest attack on Alexandria, and it could give Negan and some of his people some time to investigate what happened to all of those guys.

In case you’re wondering where we are getting the idea of a major time jump from, allow some of the comments below from showrunner Scott M. Gimple (via Entertainment Weekly) speak for themselves:

“I would say the best phrase for episode 609 to 610 is: now for something completely different. This is like holding onto your couches because it’s such a contrast to what everyone just saw — in tone primarily, but the feelings people come away with from episode 10 I would think are utterly and completely different than 9. I’ll also say some time will have passed between the two episodes.”

So we guess that we shouldn’t expect to see Carl Grimes lose his other eye in the next new episode then. There are going to be a wide array of interesting things to expect over the course of the next few episodes in particular, as we know now exactly where the story is going, and who it is leading to: Negan. We were somewhat worried that the wait for him to turn up at the end of the season would lead to the momentum getting stagnant, but it turns out that this is not actually the case … at least not so far. We’ve really run out of adjectives to describe how fast-paced and awesome the first episode of the year was.
