‘Call the Midwife’ season 5, episode 4 preview: Is Sister Julienne taking on too much?

A new episode of “Call the Midwife” is coming your way on BBC One Sunday night, and based on the sneak peek below, there could be at least a tad of tension in Nonnatus House when it comes to how some of these ladies fill up their schedule … in particular Sister Julienne.

As the sneak peek below makes it clear, Julienne wants to spend more time over at St. Cuthbert’s Hospital to deal with some more of the struggles that are happening there, and while surrounded by her fellow midwives and sisters at the dinner table, they all get a collective chance to voice some of their concerns. It’s a rather-nice, rather-diplomatic conversation, and it gives everyone a chance to have their voice heard in an interesting / unique way.

By the end of this preview, though, we don’t really have that good of an indication as to where this story is heading. To us, the most intriguing component of it may just be the status of Barbara and Tom, who started to become romantic on this past episode. How is Trixie going to react to all of this? We’re going to have a chance to find out, and hopefully it does not end up causing her to fly back into many of her old ways.
