‘Saturday Night Live’ stages return for Melissa McCarthy, Kanye West on February 13

SNL -After trying their hand with some first-time hosts in January including Adam Driver and Ronda Rousey, “Saturday Night Live” is now getting back in the business of bringing back some fan favorites into the mix.

You may have already heard the news that the February 6 show will feature former writer and recent Bernie Sanders impersonator Larry David; while he doesn’t necessarily have hosting experience, it certainly feels like he does. (The 1975 will serve as the musical guest for the episode.) Now, we’ve learned that the February 13 show will be the fourth appearance of Melissa McCarthy as host! The “Mike & Molly” star has appeared on many February episodes in the past, and has always brought the energy. We still think that her first hosting gig was the best of the three, but this time it’s coming more than a year removed from her last visit. Maybe that gave her some time to recharge her “SNL” batteries.

What’s also interesting about this gig for Melissa is that it’s a reunion-of-sorts now with her “Ghostbusters” cast members Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon; the three filmed the movie with “SNL” alum Kristen Wiig over the summer.

As for the musical guest, it’s also someone who the show is very familiar with in Kanye West. The rapper is making his seventh appearance on the show, where he last turned up during the 40th Anniversary Special. Given how many times that Kanye has been picked on by the show, he has to have a pretty good sense of humor about himself to keep coming back. Still, it has been a little while since we’ve seen the “Waking Up with Kimye” sketch.
