‘The Amazing Race 28’ preview: First promo featuring Burnie Burns, Blair Fowler, more

Amazing Race -

Last night, season 27 of “The Amazing Race” on CBS ended in a way that the vast majority of people expected for it to: With Kelsey & Joey winning the grand prize and the million dollars. It may seem a little strange to call this the predicted outcome given the dominance of Justin & Diana all season long, but the Green team certainly didn’t have the winners’ edit most of the show, and came across for the most part as cocky and people who most of America would be rooting against. (We would’ve been fine had they taken it.)

What we were a little bit surprised about was getting any footage at all from the upcoming 28th season, given that filming just started weeks ago and the show’s not going to premiere until February 12. Still, we’re not going to complain too much. The video below gives you your first taste at what lies ahead, and it’s pretty eventful.

Granted, the twist is still pretty polarizing. There are probably some out there who feel like they don’t need to see the likes of Blair Fowler, Tyler Oakley, and Burnie Burns from Rooster Teeth on the show, and they may even think that this takes away the “ordinary people” part of the premise. We’re not thinking too much that way, unless for some reason these people all come across as extremely narcissistic or something. There’s something that could be entertaining about this that we did not even think about when the season was first announced: You’re basically forcing eleven teams who are completely addicted to technology to not have it for several weeks while they race around the world. Couldn’t that be interesting as a social experiment in itself?

We definitely expect big personalities, given that these people are all famous on the internet for a reason.
