‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9, episode 10 video: All about Sheldon and Amy

Given that CBS had already announced that Sheldon and Amy were going to be having sex for the first time on the December 17 midseason finale of “The Big Bang Theory,” apparently there was no debate over whether or not to give major events away in the promo for Thursday night’s installment.

Come December 10, Sheldon and Amy are getting back together! The good thing about this is that it keeps us from having to wait any longer to learn if Amy will remain perpetually heartbroken after he turned her down following their trip to the aquarium. While we may not always understand what she sees in him (mostly because he isn’t always the nicest), there is obviously something that keeps her invested in the two having a life together.

Meanwhile, this promo also give you a first look at the big midseason finale, as Sheldon delivers the news to Penny that he plans of having coitus with Amy. As a result, Penny breaks a glass. Classic humor, and a pretty appropriate response to something most of us never expected to see from Sheldon.

These two episodes are critical in mapping out the character’s future, and while we can understand some fans being frustrated by the separation, we feel like this may have actually accomplished something in the end. We were rather critical of how “Castle” handled this, but here it was probably important for Sheldon to realize that there are stakes to what he does, and Amy will not be there for him forever if he starts to not care about her needs.
