‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3, episode 10 (winter finale) preview: Can Coulson, Fitz save the day?

For all of those wondering where the story on “Agents of SHIELD” is going in next week’s winter finale, let’s say this: You better be prepared for some shocking twists and turns here and there. This story, entitled “Maveth,” is taking us to the alien world previously occupied by Simmons, and Hydra has one goal first and foremost: Trying to uncover what the promo below describes as an “ancient evil.” They’ve got a chance to save their organization once and for all, while Fitz and Coulson are going to do what they can to stop the chaos from happening.

The synopsis below sums up the events of this story rather nicely:

“S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra go head-to-head in a battle that will change Coulson’s world forever. While Daisy and her team of Inhumans fight to keep Hydra at bay, Coulson and Fitz take the ultimate risk.”

Given that this is the winter finale, it feels pretty safe to say that there will be a substantial cliffhanger at the very end of the story. Whatever happens here will be carried directly over into the second part of the season premiering in March, and this can be one game-changer in a series of them. The only twist that could be bigger this season is the one that happens as we get closer to “Captain America: Civil War.” Just remember what happened with Hydra during “The Winter Soldier,” which really changed everything for the show as we know it.
