‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 9 (fall finale) preview: Wally West arrives!

For everyone who loves “The Flash,” next week is going to be a game-changer in many ways … even if it doesn’t seem that way on the surface. While it is not entirely clear just how Zoom will factor into this story per se, we are going to be getting a chance to see the return of two major villains in the Trickster and the Weather Wizard. Also, you’ve got Leonard Snart, who more or less is a villain, coming back for a story in his own right.

“Running to Stand Still” is the title for the winter finale, and based on the synopsis below, one of the most exciting things coming up is the arrival of Wally West, a very important character from the comics:

“When Mark Mardon AKA The Weather Wizard (guest star Liam McIntyre) returns to break Leonard Snart AKA Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) and James Jesse AKA The Trickster (guest star Mark Hamill) out of Iron Heights, Barry (Grant Gustin) must stop these rogues from taking over Central City during Christmas. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Iris (Candice Patton) meet Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale).”

While we cannot sit here and say with 100% confidence that Wally is going to be a major part of the rest of season 2, we know the plan is for Lonsdale to be a series regular. With that in mind, the show clearly has some plans for him that extend far beyond what we see in this first episode. Therefore, there’s a lot to be excited about.
