‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9: Show boss on big Sheldon – Amy decision

Big Bang Theory -If you have seen some of the headlines and the stories that are out there regarding “The Big Bang Theory,” then you know more than likely already what is coming: On the December 17 episode of the series, you are going to have a chance to see Sheldon and Amy finally consummate their relationship. They’re not even together at the moment, but this is going to be changing sooner rather than later.

So why make this move now? Given that they are just getting back together, we can understand the sentiment of people out there who feel as though this moment is being a little bit rushed. However, executive producer Steve Molaro does a good job reminding us (per The Hollywood Reporter) that when you really think about how long these characters have been together, it is really not a moment that is rushed at all:

“They’ve been together on and off for over five years and it just seemed to be a good way to ultimately resolve this journey they’ve been on, including this break-up as well … How long could we make this poor girl wait?! I liked that there was something unexpected about it. You could have easily made an episode like this be a season finale or something like that so why not pull the trigger when people think we may not. The stories lined up with Star Wars coming out. We were so excited about it and we felt it was time.”

The gang trying to get tickets to see “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be one of the primary story threads of this episode, as will the return of Bob Newhart as Professor Proton. He will appear to Sheldon almost like Obi-Wan Kenobi and help him to make some decisions in his relationship with Amy.
