‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: The after-effects of John Constantine

Constantine -We knew that John Constantine would be a force to be reckoned with when he made his appearance on “Arrow” season 4, but who knew that this one-off would have such an enormous impact on Oliver Queen later on this season?

Specifically, we’re talking about the magical tattoo-of-sorts that John gave him during the island flashbacks, otherwise known as the one part of the show you probably get a little tired watching except when Constantine is on the screen. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly executive producer Wendy Mericle makes it clear that this is something that will rear its head again at some point during the season, and protect him potentially against Baron Reiter:

“Basically Constantine says to him that this is insurance against Reiter, and we’re going to deliver on that promise entirely … It’s going to help Oliver when he’s in a very dark place and time when he has no other way out. It’s going to be the thing that pulls him out of a very dark spot and literally saves him.”

Now, if only this would lead to another appearance from Constantine … and while it’d be fun, we’re not currently putting too much stock in that rumor that he will be a part of “Legends of Tomorrow” season 2. Maybe it’s being discussed in some capacity, but there is always a pretty large distinction between a discussion and reality.

Season 4 of “Arrow” will resume with new episodes a week from Wednesday. Be on the lookout for some more news soon!
