‘Girl Meets World’ season 2, episode 25 video: A closer look at ‘Girl Meets the New Year’

Friday night is (sadly) yet another night without “Girl Meets World” coming on the Disney Channel, but there is at least some good news that we can offer you: The latest sneak peek for the new episode airing next week entitled “Girl Meets the New Year.” Check out the video, courtesy of TheWrap, below!

What does this sneak peek tell us in particular? More than anything else, it is an indicator that there are some problems forming in the love triangle / love square / whatever you want to call it between Riley, Lucas, Maya, and Charlie. Charlie has a thing for Riley, and she’s just trying to figure out where her heart truly lies. After all, she has some feelings for Lucas, who in turn things that Maya is the only person holding a candle for him.

The video also tells us that Charlie is making plans to try to be near Riley at midnight, mostly for the purposes of being able to put on her the patented kiss to start the new year off right. That’s something that has become a tradition, but something that still is probably at least a tad under-represented on the majority of the shows that are out there. After all, there are a good many of them focusing instead on other matters, mostly because Christmas Specials are far more common and there often are not many episodes that air between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

In case you’re wondering why this special is not airing on New Year’s Eve itself (given that it is a Friday), the only answer we can really give you is that maybe the network is fearful of holiday events hurting the ratings.
