‘Chicago PD’ season 3 spoilers: Lindsay, Halstead, and a two-hour event

Remember when the premiere of “Chicago PD” was pushed back a week thanks to “Law & Order: SVU”? Well, it looks as though the “Chicago Fire” spin-off is going to make up for some of that lost time with a two-hour event of its own on Wednesday, October 28, which will in part get the episode counts between the two shows even once again. These are going to be technically thought of as two separate episodes, though it’s very well possible that there could be a certain degree of congruence between them.

These two episodes are going to be entitled “Climbing Into Bed” and “You Never Know Who’s Who,” and the synopsis below is probably great news for those of you who are Lindsay / Halstead fans:

“After a botched undercover job, Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) is under scrutiny by the new Street Deputy Crowley (guest star Barbara Eve Harris) who will determine his future with the unit. A suspicious person call turns into a murder investigation when Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and her temporary partner Price (guest star Travis A. Knight) discover the body of a dead man in an SUV. After Mouse (guest star Samuel Hunt) identifies the victim as the owner of a security company, the unit soon realizes there might be more to his story. Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Lindsay (Sophia Bush) take a step forward in their relationship.”

Aside from just ‘shipping the couple, one of the great things about Lindsay and Halstead is that they can help one another to overcome some of their demons, and in the process become stronger people in their own right. This is not one of those relationships where it is damaging for the two to be together; instead, it is far more symbiotic.
