‘Dancing with the Stars 21’ results: Was Gary Busey or Carlos PenaVega eliminated?

Going into Monday night’s results for “Dancing with the Stars,” it felt as though this was a particularly easy race to telegraph. Gary Busey and Paula Deen not only are the two Stars with the lowest scores, but it is by a wide margin. We also don’t envision either one of them having a Tommy Chong or Bristol Palin sort of following, where they make it so much further than you think that they should. Gary’s a mess, and we’re not sure everyone enjoys him as much as we do (we have been fans since his ridiculous stint on “Celebrity Apprentice”).

In the end, the voters did the predictable thing, and Gary is now gone off to his mansion to pretend to be a mechanical dog. He had a nice run. The surprise to us was seeing Carlos PenaVega in danger, given that he has performed reasonably well over the past few weeks.

Does this mean that we are going to be seeing Paula around for the next few months on the same level of a Tommy? We’re not going to go that far, but remember for the most part that she has a deceptively large following who are probably coming out in droves in order to support her.

Next week, the show is bringing in the switch-back, which will be crazy given that you know that these pros have developed close relationships with some of their partners. Is everyone going to function nearly as well with someone else helping them learn?
