‘Arrow’ season 4 trailer has Oliver / Felicity, Damien Darhk, John Constantine, and more

Oliver -

The new trailer for “Arrow” season 4 finally came our way Friday afternoon, and while you can still wonder how everything comes together, we don’t think that you can wonder whether or not it does an effective job setting up the fourth season: It does.

What we are impressed about the most right now is actually the villain more so than any of the heroes. In just a few lines, Neal McDonough is awesome as Damien Darhk, and we like that he is actually speaking in his own American accent rather than something else to give him some sort of “ancient” feel. He feels powerful, formidable, and interesting. Figuring out more of his motives, besides of course just watching the newly-named Star City burn, should be rather fun to behold.

Also in this trailer, we get a quick sense as to what everything thinks happened to Ray Palmer (Starling City was re-named following his “death”), and also how Oliver and Felicity are settling back into normal life again. They’re going domestic! We’re specifically seeing the two of them starting to live some sort of regular life in the suburbs, before they are eventually called to come back and help with Team Arrow. Of course, we wonder mostly how they had the money to get a house given that Oliver’s business career is seemingly dead and they’ve spent the past few months gallivanting around Europe.

The trailer gives you briefly a look at Sara Lance’s resurrection, John Constantine (Matt Ryan) making his one appearance, and then also lots of action. Lance and Oliver Queen are still at odds, and things between him and Diggle are still not great. Also, you’ve got Felicity spending time with Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and they seem like a lot of fun already.
