‘Once Upon a time’ season 5: Merida takes center stage in latest key art

Merida -Are you feeling a little bit brave? Obviously, the producers of “Once Upon a Time” are in bringing over their first-ever Pixar character into the show in Merida.

The key art below (courtesy of the show’s official Twitter account is one of the cheekier ones that we’ve seen, given that we’re seeing the famed archer (played on the show by Amy Manson) targeting the show’s very title! Merida was first revealed at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this summer, and our base understanding is that she will be connected to at least one other story on the show and potentially more. Part of the fun here is probably going to be finding out just who she is ultimately connected to.

Do we think that this is going to bring about some sort of snowball effect, where a variety of other notable characters from past Pixar movies turn up? Probably not. the truth here is that Merida makes sense because she comes from the right sort of universe for this show. It makes zero sense, meanwhile, for us to suddenly see someone like a Woody or a Buzz aboard the show.

New episodes of the series will start to air on Sunday, September 27. Given the timing for when Manson first started to film her role, it is pretty safe to say that she will have an integral part from almost the very beginning. We’ll have some other updates on the subject as they start to come out.
