‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 17 spoilers: News all about Kelli Giddish’s Rollins!
Rollins has become very important to the fabric of “Law & Order: SVU” over the years, and we have to think now that with the absence of Nick Amaro, she’s going to be even more important and at the center of many stories.
With that in mind, doesn’t it make sense that we would be seeing more of her family? That certainly does to us, and we’ve got every indication that you’re going to see her sister (playedby Lindsay Pulsipher) again … and also her mother to boot! Here’s what executive producer Warren Leight had to say on the subject to TV Guide:
“We’ll see her sister and meet her mother … Even if their intent is to be supportive, and I’m not even sure it is, her family showing up is not a great thing for her — nothing good comes from seeing her sister or her mother.”
For those super-curious about whether or not Kelli Giddish’s real-life pregnancy will be written into the show, Leight promises that you will find out an answer to that very early on in the airing of season 17. We’re interested to see what the writers come up with for the Rollins character with Amaro now seemingly gone, and also just for the show in general. “SVU” has done a really good job at evolving over time, and taking on relevant issues in a way that feels current. We’re not sure many shows that are 17 years running would be able to do that.

The episode with Rollins(and her sister and Mother) is a very crucial episode. This has to be the episode where Amanda finally takes charge of her life. If this becomes another episode of Amanda letting her Mother and Sister get away with using or abusing her, whether they write her pregnancy into the show or not(even if it ends a certain way to give Kelli Giddish time off to have her baby) then I’m pretty sure I will no longer be able to invest myself in the Amanda Rollins character anymore. Rollins’s sister has a warrant out for her arrest(for murder) and Amanda has been raped to try and save her sister from jail and framed for murder by her sister. Since Rollins is the only reason I’m really watching the show now, this could be it for me and SVU. I’ve got a strong feeling that this will be the last season anyway. if Rollins is going to continue to be stupid when it comes to dealing with her own family, I can’t care about her anymore.

I’m getting the feeling that this is the episode that SVU will use to Kelli out of the show for awhile when her real life baby is due. My main problem is that Amanda Rollins sister cannot become our real life Lindsay Lohan(constantly breaking the law and not ever being held accountable). We already know that Amanda’s Mother will show up with her sister, so her Mother is already guilty of harboring a fugitive. I don’t see a happy ending for a pregnant Amanda Rollins with her sister around. if Amanda’s sister gets away again, I don’t think I can root for Amanda anymore. This is a story line that needs to end NOW, not at the end of the season or continue beyond that. There may not even be a season beyond this one. This is the episode that Warren Leight is going to screw up big time(in my opinion), We waited a whole month for “Forgiving Rollins” last season, and Leight isn’t going to do that again without losing me. Since this is his last season on SVU, I know he doesn’t care what anybody thinks.
