‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 3 spoilers: First look at Nikki Reed as Betsy Ross!

We know that there are so many different changes coming up for the third season of “Sleepy Hollow,” in between the new additions to the cast, a change in filming location (it shouldn’t impact the show much), and also a change in the overall direction of the story. As Fox co-programming head Dana Walden noted yesterday at Fox’s TCA Summer Press Tour panel, one of their main objectives going into the third season was to try to present a series that is a little more in line with what they did the first time around versus the second:

“We’re still proud of the episodes of last season … Our observation was that a lot of the show had moved into the fantastical world, where it used to be a show that was weighted very evenly between Abbie in the real world and Ichabod in the [fantasy world]. We’re trying to shift it back to a more even-handed [approach].”

Now that we’ve said that, may we introduce you in part to part of the more fantasy-centered part of the story? You can see a first-look photo below of Nikki Reed as Betsy Ross via Entertainment Weekly, and this is certainly something that feels like a flashback. She is a much more dangerous woman on the show than she may have been in history, where she is at the center of legend regarding the American flag’s origin.

Given that Reed is a series regular, let’s just say that we would be shocked if she stays in the past forever.
