‘Legends of Tomorrow’ spoilers: Falk Hentschel cast to play Hawkman

Who better to play Hawkman on “Legends of Tomorrow” than someone who actually has a name fitting of the character? When you hear “Falk Hentschel,” don’t you think Hawkman? Well, we do … maybe we’re just insane or something.

As first reported by Deadline, the former “Reckless” actor has been cast to play the part of Carter Hall, who is the latest reincarnation in a series over time. He and Hawkgirl, at least in some comic incarnations, are star-crossed lovers, and both go through the ages in new bodies trying to find their way to one another. He can find his power within the hawk god Horus. It was always a little more of mythological origin story in the comics, and we wonder if that will be easy to explain at all within the show’s eighteen episodes. There is a huge cast that must be dealt with, and less than the standard 22 episodes in which to accommodate it all.

We are going to see Hawkgirl a.k.a. Kendra Saunders over on “The Flash” during its second season, and it is to be seen if we meet Carter at around that time, as well. Hopefully, we’ll get some other news on this subject as filming starts to really press onward.

“The Flash” premieres on The CW this October; meanwhile, we anticipate “Legends of Tomorrow” coming on the air at some point in early 2016. Some other confirmed characters at the moment include The Atom, White Canary, Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Rip Hunter, and at least one half of Firestorm.
