‘Fear the Walking Dead’ will have ‘Talking Dead’ special after finale

fear -Just how much is AMC treating the upcoming “Fear the Walking Dead” like its flagship counterpart? Let’s just put it this way: They are still willing to give it an aftershow treatment … even if it is just once.

AMC announced today that following their first-season finale for the spin-off prequel on Sunday, October 4 (otherwise known as a week before “The Walking Dead” premieres), there will be a “Talking Dead” special hosted by Chris Hardwick breaking down everything from the first season. We’re not that shocked that there is not anything coming on before then, if for no other reason than that the ratings for this show are not a given at the moment. If they were, you better believe that they would be making sure that this talk show was happening. The network needs the extra ratings boost anywhere they can get it.

The show premieres in case you forgot come Sunday, August 23 with a 90-minute episode, and if you have really steered clear of the internet as of late, the logline for the first season is as follows:

“Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and English teacher Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis) have managed to assemble. The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful, escapist, and strung out children takes a back seat when society begins to break down. A forced evolution, a necessary survival of the fittest takes hold, and our dysfunctional family must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories.”

AMC also confirmed today the recent news that season 2 of “Fear the Walking Dead” will comprise of 15 episodes … so there is no longer any need to wonder over that.
