‘Outlander’ season 2 notes: Another Sam Heughan – Caitriona Balfe video (plus, show merchandise!)

Outlander -It feels like it has been a little while since we’ve discussed “Outlander” season 2, even though in reality it has been only about a week or so. Don’t you see that this is what happens when you start to enter Droughtlander? You lose all sense of time.

Anyhow, we thought we’d do something today that we’ve done for other shows for years during the offseason, and that is present you with a couple of bite-sized updates pertaining to the show until something a little more in-depth is released. Thankfully, we assume that there will be periodic updates through the summer / fall, given that Starz has shown themselves to be a very faithful source of coverage for set updates and videos.

Somehow, another Comic-Con interview – Seriously, we don’t know how this is possible. We know that there are many that happened during the convention we did not quite get to aside from the panel in San Diego, but many of them are now in the “old news” category. This one is interesting since TV Guide Magazine just posted it a couple of days ago. It features stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan aboard their famous yacht that they have every year at the convention. you hear more about Jamie and Claire in France next season, and while many of these topics are familiar, you do get to hear a bit about other TV obsessions and also the difference coming back to Comic-Con this year now that their show has run for an entire season.

It is a fun albeit brief chat, but Sam and Cait have a great enough rapport to make it worth checking out. Also, it makes us want a yacht.

Merchandise – So many shows do get merchandise, but there is still a certain significance to it still in that it is that sign that you have “made it” to a certain degree … even if you already have one indication of that already courtesy of the numbers.

We’re sure that many diehard fans already know that there is a line of Funko Pop! figures featuring Jamie, Claire, and some other characters coming out this October. There is also a wall calendar for the show on Amazon that just arrived today, to go along with a daily calendar who those who refer to follow along that way. You don’t get this sort of stuff unless there is demand, so congratulations are in order! Now, back to waiting for season 2 to premiere in 2016.
